Sustainability at Projector A/S

ESG Report 2025 · ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified

At Projector A/S, sustainability isn’t something we’ve added on top of our business — it is our business. Our core service is to extend the lifespan of trains and train components rather than replacing them. That’s circular economy in its purest form, and it’s the foundation of everything we do in ESG.

With more than 400 years of combined railway experience at our workshop in Randers, we’ve built a business where environmental responsibility and technical craftsmanship go hand in hand. And in 2025, we took several decisive steps that significantly strengthen our sustainability profile.

Certified responsibility

Projector A/S is certified to both ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety. These two certifications form the framework we operate within every day — and the guarantee that our words and actions are aligned.

100% green electricity

In 2025, we transitioned our entire electricity supply to 100% renewable energy. Every kilowatt-hour used in our workshop now comes from green sources. Combined with our CO₂-neutral heat supply, this means our day-to-day operations now rest on a stable, green foundation.

Circular economy

Our approach to waste reflects the same principle as our core business: nothing should go to waste if it can be avoided. In 2025, every recyclable material — iron, aluminium, copper, paper, and hazardous waste — was recycled or recovered at 100%. Only genuine residual waste was sent to incineration.

Climate footprint

Measured against revenue, Projector A/S emits less than 0.0015 tonnes CO₂e per EUR 1,000 of turnover — a carbon intensity well below the average for Danish industry. That matters to us, and it matters to our customers’ Scope 3 reporting when they choose us as a supplier.

Our next steps

We’ve come a long way, but we’re not done. We’ve set two clear priorities:

Full transition to an electric vehicle fleet. Transport is the area where we still carry a fossil footprint. It needs to be phased out, and our fleet will be fully electrified.

Systematic reduction of Scope 1 emissions. Through energy optimisation and process improvements, we will reduce our direct emissions year by year.
